Sustainability and emission-free operations are at the core of Westenergy’s strategy, and are key priorities for our owners, business partners, and the entire Vaasa region. Our goal is to achieve carbon-neutral energy production by the early 2030s. We are actively advancing this goal through our carbon capture and utilisation project, ECCU.
Other Circular Economy Projects
In addition to the ECCU project, we actively focus on developing the circular economy by participating in other significant research and development initiatives. These projects support the circular economy goals of both Finland and the EU, while enabling practical solutions to the challenges presented.
Electricity and District Heating
We produce electricity and district heating in a sustainable and reliable way for the benefit of society. The high availability of our plant is made possible through seamless and skilled collaboration between our production and maintenance teams.
Recycled Materials
Recycling bottom ash generated from the operations of the facility helps conserve natural resources and supports the circular economy.
